The Government today (December 2) announced the appointment of Mr Alex Lai Ting-hong and Miss Alice Lee Suet-ching, and the re-appointment of Mr Paul Shieh Wing-tai, to the Management Committee of the Consumer Legal Action Fund.
The appointments will be for a term of two years with effect from December 6.
"We are grateful to Mr Shieh for his invaluable contribution to the committee. We are confident that with Mr Lai and Miss Lee as new members, the committee will continue to manage the fund efficiently and in a manner that best serves the public interest," a Government spokesman said.
Ms Amanda Liu Lai-yun and Ms Ung Mon-in will retire from the Management Committee upon the expiry of their current term on December 5.
"We are grateful to Ms Liu and Ms Ung for their valuable service to the committee during their office," the spokesman said.
The Consumer Legal Action Fund was established in 1994 to provide financial support to meritorious consumer cases for legal action or other forms of assistance.
The Consumer Council is the trustee of the fund. The Management Committee assists the Consumer Council in managing the fund and determining the eligibility of applications under the fund.
