Government adjusts OTA for Thailand to Amber and removes Amber OTA for Albania and Belarus
*********************************************************

As floodwater in Thailand has receded, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today (November 30) adjusted the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Thailand to Amber. Hong Kong residents who intend to visit the country are reminded to monitor the situation. Those who are already there should attend to their personal safety.

A Government spokesman said, "According to the Thai authorities, 16 provinces including Bangkok are still affected by flooding at varying degrees. Those who plan to visit the affected areas or are already there should pay attention to announcements by local authorities."

The Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates through the media and the OTA webpage (www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota).

The Government also removed the Amber OTA for Albania and Belarus today.

Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868.
