Temporary traffic and transport arrangements for emergency repair of tram track on Morrison Hill Road in Causeway Bay

     Transport Department (TD) today (August 18) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Morrison Hill Road near its junction with Leighton Road from about 9.30pm tomorrow (August 19) to about 6am on Monday (August 22) to facilitate emergency tram track repair work.  

     The temporary traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

* Tram service along Percival Street, Leighton Road, Wong Nai Chung Road in Happy Valley, Morrison Hill Road and Tin Lok Lane will be suspended from about 9.30pm tomorrow (August 19) and on Saturday (August 20) to the end of tram service of those two days.

* Traffic lane closure on Morrison Hill Road eastbound near its junction with Leighton Road and Leighton Road westbound near its junction with Morrison Hill Road will be implemented in stages during the period between August 19 and August 22.  

     Notices about the temporary suspension of the tram service will be put up by the Hong Kong Tramways, Ltd.

     Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People planning to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport as far as possible.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Members of public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
