*********************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (July 8) announced amendments to the approved Urban Renewal Authority (URA) Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street Development Scheme Plan (DSP) and the approved Sai Ying Pun and Sheung Wan Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involved the excision of the Wing Lee Street area and the Bridges Street Market site from the DSP and incorporation of the excised area into the OZP. The site at 1-12 Wing Lee Street and 17 and 19 Shing Wong Street is zoned as "Comprehensive Development Area" with a building height restriction of four storeys. The Bridges Street Market site is zoned as "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Historical Site Preserved for Cultural and Recreational Uses" with a building height restriction of three storeys.

Other amendments mainly include showing Wing Lee Street and Shing Wong Street together with the adjoining major streets as "Road"; rezoning an area at 27-29 Hollywood Road from "Road" to "Commercial", and revision of the gross floor area restrictions for three "Residential (Group A)" sub-zones.

The draft URA Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street DSP No. S/H3/URA1/3 and the draft Sai Ying Pun and Sheung Wan OZP No. S/H3/26, incorporating the amendments, are now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in the North Point and Sha Tin Government Offices, the Hong Kong District Planning Office and the Central and Western District Office.
