The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
The Legislative Council Commission (the Commission) has endorsed the arrangements for the authorisation of use of the TV/Radio Rooms (TV/R Rooms) and the Workstations at the Press Room (Workstations) of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Complex by eligible news media organisations.
Pursuant to the decision of the Commission, the LegCo Secretariat now invites news media organisations licensed or registered under Hong Kong Legislation to apply for the use of the relevant media facilities. Application details and the application form can be found at the LegCo website: www.legco.gov.hk/general/english/sec/invite_s/announcement.htm .
The LegCo Complex will provide 12 TV/R Rooms and 28 Workstations for application for use by news media organisations. News media organisations wishing to apply for the use of designated TV/R rooms and Workstations are requested to complete the application form and return it to the Public Information Division of the LegCo Secretariat on or before July 11, 2011.
Announcement of the results of the applications will be made on July 15, 2011. Where lots are to be drawn to determine the relative priority in choosing the TV/R Rooms or Workstations, the drawing of lots will take place on the same day.
