Mr Yau and the delegation will join the CIEPEC 2011 opening ceremony tomorrow morning (June 7) as well as visit the Hong Kong Pavilion. They will also exchange views with representatives of Mainland environmental industries.

The Hong Kong delegation is mainly formed by representatives from 18 organisations, including the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Business Environment Council, the Hong Kong Environmental Industry Association, the Hong Kong General Association of Recycling Business, the Hong Kong General Association of Recycling Business, the Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Limited and the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

In the coming two days, Mr Yau will visit the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau. The delegates also hope to gain further insight into opportunities arising from the Mainland's growing environmental industry and green economy. The delegation will also visit the Beijing e-Town Economic Development Area to get a better understanding of the latest developments in the application of green technology in the Mainland.

Mr Yau will host a dinner for representatives of Hong Kong enterprises and organisations joining CIEPEC 2011, related Mainland officials and representatives of Mainland environmental industries. The function seeks to facilitate co-operation and exchange between environmental industries in Hong Kong and the Mainland to further promote the development of the green economy.
