New public rental housing application form available online
***********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:

The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) has launched a new application form for Public Rental Housing (PRH) online to provide better service to PRH applicants.

"The revised Application Form for Waiting List for Public Rental Housing is more user-friendly. A checklist of the necessary supporting documents is also attached for applicants' easy reference to avoid delay in registration caused by missing documents," a spokesman for the HA said today (June 1).

PRH applicants can download the new form from the HA website (www.housingauthority.gov.hk) for completion. They may also choose to click the hyperlink to the GovHK website (www.gov.hk) to fill out the form online. The applicant should then print the duly completed form and sign before submitting the application together with all necessary supporting documents. The application can be sent by post to P.O. Box 89192, Kowloon City Post Office, or by hand to the Applications Sub-section of the Housing Department (address: Podium Level 2, Hong Kong Housing Authority Customer Service Centre, 3 Wang Tau Hom South Road, Kowloon).

The new form is also available at the Sham Shui Po Housing Information Centre at Podium Floor, 2/F, Un Chau Shopping Centre, Un Chau Estate, Kowloon, as well as all Public Housing Estate Offices and Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department. The old application form is still valid until further notice.

An updated "Information for Applicants" booklet detailing the eligibility criteria and necessary procedures with a sample of a completed application form is also available from the websites and the above mentioned offices.

A video showing applicants how to fill in the form is being screened at the waiting hall of the Applications Sub-section at Wang Tau Hom. The video can also be viewed at the HA website.

"With these enhanced measures, it is hoped that PRH applicants would find the application process easier," the spokesman said, adding that the eligibility criteria for PRH application remain unchanged.
