2011-12 civil service pay adjustment

     The Civil Service Bureau announced today (May 26) that following the validation of the results of the 2011 Pay Trend Survey (i.e. the gross pay trend indicators) by the Pay Trend Survey Committee, the net pay trend indicators - derived by deducting the cost of increments paid to civil servants in 2010-11 from the gross pay trend indicators - are as follows:

     In accordance with the established mechanism, the Chief Executive in Council will decide on the rates of civil service pay adjustment (if any) for 2011-12 having regard to the net pay trend indicators above and other relevant factors, namely, the state of Hong Kong's economy, the Government's fiscal position, changes in the cost of living, the staff sides' pay claims and civil service morale.
