Commission on Strategic Development to discuss Hong Kong's work direction in complementing the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan
***********************************************************

The Commission on Strategic Development (CSD), chaired by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will discuss "Hong Kong SAR's Work Direction in Complementing the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan" at its meeting to be held on May 12 (Thursday).

The Secretariat to the Commission issued a paper on the subject for members' reference today (May 6). The paper explores ways for Hong Kong to complement the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan, consolidate and enhance its competitive advantages, further develop various economic pillars and industries where Hong Kong enjoys clear advantages, and promote regional cooperation between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region to fully capitalise on development opportunities during the years covered by the plan.

A Government spokesman said, "The National Twelfth Five-Year Plan enables Hong Kong to seize new opportunities and rise to a new level of development under 'One Country, Two Systems' and the Basic Law. We look forward to hearing members' views on this subject through the discussion at CSD so as to formulate work direction and specific measures in complementing the plan."
