Housing Authority's Rent Collection Service Enhanced
****************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:

Public housing tenants will have an additional of over 100 collection points to pay their rent starting from today (May 3), following the participation of a group of supermarkets and convenience stores in providing the service for the Housing Authority (HA).

The newly joined service provider is the China Resources Vanguard (Hong Kong) Co. Ltd. At present, the group has 148 supermarkets and VanGO convenience stores, some of which are located in 54 public housing estates.

"These newly available rent collection points will provide more choices for tenants. Tenants can enjoy the convenience of paying their rent at any of these points simply by producing their Housing Department e-Payment Card and paying the rent in cash," an HA spokesperson said.

In addition to estate shroff offices, the HA's rent collection service network has now expanded to about 1,200 points throughout the territory. Among these are 83 MTR stations (including those along the Light Rail Line) and over 970 7-Eleven Convenience Stores.

Public housing tenants can also pay their rent through bank auto-pay, PPS, internet banking, phone-banking and Automatic Teller Machines.

In a move to further support the rent collecting service, the Housing Department will complete the installation of Rent Enquiry Kiosks at 175 Public Rental Housing Estates by the end of this month. Tenants will be able to easily check their latest rent status and rent payment records for the past six months by using touch-screen computers at these locations. They will also be able to print out enquiry results for record purposes.
