Secretary for Justice visits Wong Tai Sin District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, visited Wong Tai Sin District this afternoon (April 7) to see the district's latest developments and gauge community leaders' views on livelihood issues.  

     Accompanied by Wong Tai Sin District Officer, Mr William Shiu, Mr Wong first toured a popular local public park, Nan Lian Garden, which is modelled on gardens of the Tang Dynasty.

     Following this, Mr Wong met with members of the local District Council and other community leaders to listen to their views on issues such as law and order, drugs, transport, building management and development.

     Mr Wong also called on the Sik Sik Yuen Ho Chui District Community Centre for Senior Citizens where he was welcomed by a group of energetic elderly people beating drums.  Another group of elderly people sang to him in Putonghua.

     Mr Wong was briefed on the services of the Jockey Club Activity Centre, operated by the Hong Kong Federation of Handicapped Youth, in Wang Tau Hom Estate.

     Visiting two social enterprises at the Centre, the Flower Workshop and First Sense Design, Mr Wong was impressed by the flower arrangements and creative products designed by people with a disabilities.
