The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (March 30) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of $307,175 against an employer in the District Court.
The employer, Liu Yuk Ching, formerly trading as Sum Kee Restaurant, was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $307,175, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to its six employees.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendant to pay $930 as the cost of the claims.
