Additional flights arranged for Hong Kong Residents to leave Tokyo
************************************************************

Due to the evolving situation at the Fukushima nuclear facility and disruptions to transport, power and other infrastructure in Tokyo, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government advises Hong Kong residents currently in Tokyo to consider returning to Hong Kong or moving to the south of Japan.

Additional flights have been arranged to depart Tokyo (Narita) tomorrow (March 18) evening to facilitate the return of Hong Kong residents. In addition to stationing at the Narita and Haneda airports, the HKSAR Government Support Team will set up a helpdesk at Keio Plaza Hotel (Shinjuku, Tokyo) to provide airport transfer and other assistance to Hong Kong residents wishing to take the additional flights. Details of the helpdesk and updates are promulgated at the websites of Security Bureau, Immigration Department and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Tokyo.  (Please refer to the Annex.)

Hong Kong residents who need to stay in Tokyo are strongly advised to register their telephone numbers, email addresses and local addresses with the Immigration Department via: 1868@immd.gov.hk.

Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates concerning Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) through the media and the OTA webpage www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota .

Residents outside Hong Kong who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868. The Chinese Embassy in Japan has set up a hotline (81-3-34033064) to render assistance to Chinese citizens including Hong Kong residents.
