Agenda of LegCo meeting today revised

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     The agenda of the Legislative Council (LegCo) meeting, scheduled for today (March 16) at 11 am in the Chamber of the LegCo Building, has been revised. In addition to the original agenda items, the President of the LegCo has given permission for Hon Alan leong Kah-kit, Hon Kam Nai-wai and Hon Paul Tse Wai-chun to ask, under Rule 24(4) of the Rules of Procedure, an urgent question on safety of food products imported from Japan, Hong Kong's contingency measures for radiation leak at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan and personal safety of Japan-bound Hong Kong travellers at the meeting respectively.

     In addition, Hon Miriam Lau Kin-yee will move, under Rule 16(4) of the Rules of Procedure, a motion on Adjournment. The motion states: "That this Council do now adjourn for the purpose of debating the following issue: the impact on Hong Kong of the Fukushima nuclear plant explosion in Japan and its leakage of radiation as well as the Government's contingency measures."
