FS speaks about earthquake in Japan (with photo/video)
******************************************************

Following is a transcript of remarks by the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, at a media session at the Central Government Offices today (March 11):

Reporter:  Mr Tsang, how would the earthquake impact on Hong Kong's economic situation?

Financial Secretary: I think there will be short-term volatility but in the longer term I think the impact would not be great.

Reporter: What measures would be complementing you in order to have a stable economic situation?

Financial Secretary: We have to assess the position clearly because we haven't seen all that is happening yet. We will be closely monitoring the situation. When we have determined what the final assessment is, then we can make an appropriate move in terms of pushing forward measures that would be helpful in terms of maintaining the stability of the market and an orderly processing in the market. Thank you very much.
