Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Tuen Mun this weekend

     The Transport Department (TD) today (March 11) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented from 11pm on March 12 (Saturday) to 5.30am on March 13 (Sunday) in Tuen Mun to facilitate the construction works of the temporary Chi Lok Bridge project on Tuen Mun Road (town centre section).

     The arrangements mainly include:

* Some traffic lanes of Tuen Mun Road connecting Tuen Hing Road and Wong Chu Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic in stages from 11pm on March 12 to 1.30am on March 13.

* The section of Tuen Mun Road between Wong Chu Road and Tuen Hi Road/Tuen Fat Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1.30am to 5.30am on March 13.

* During the road closure period, motorists are advised to travel via the following roads:

(a) For journeys to Tsuen Wan/Tuen Mun (West), motorists on Tuen Mun Road are advised to travel via Pui To Road, Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road, Hoi Chu Road, Hoi Wong Road and Wong Chu Road; and

(b) For journeys to Yuen Long, motorists on Tuen Mun Road are advised to travel via Wong Chu Road, Hoi Wong Road, Hoi Wing Road, Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road, Tuen Hing Road and Tuen Hi Road.

*  At the same time, GMB routes 47S, 48S, 606S and 610S will be diverted.

     Notices will be put up at respective stops and inside vehicle compartments to inform passengers of the temporary diversions.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures as necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news broadcasts via radio and television channels.
