Eighteen public light bus drivers commended for safe driving (with photos)

     Eighteen public light bus (PLB) drivers with safe driving attitude clinched the "Outstanding PLB Driver Awards" and were presented with certificates at the "Public Light Bus Safe-driving Kick-off Ceremony" held at Sau Mau Ping Road Safety Town today (February 18).

     The selection of "Outstanding PLB Driver" was organised by the Police Traffic Branch Headquarters. PLB trade was invited to nominate their drivers with good driving record, which would be verified by the Police.

     Commending the awardees for their professional attitude at the ceremony, Police Acting Chief Superintendent of Traffic Branch Headquarters, Ms Ng Ho-chun, also thanked the trade for supporting the "Project Safe-Ride" since its launch in 2008.

     "Project Safe-Ride" aims to remind PLB drivers to stay vigilant on the road to safeguard the lives of both passengers and pedestrians. Meanwhile, members of the public are advised to report direct to the 24-hour Police Transport Hotline 2754 7668 about driving misbehaviors of PLB drivers.

     Ms Ng said, "I wish all PLB drivers to be smart when driving, contributing to the service quality of the transport industry."
