The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at Tin Yiu Community Centre in Tin Shui Wai from December 7 to 9.
A total of 54 organisations will participate in the fair, mainly from the catering, retail and property management industries, offering a total of over 3,900 vacancies. Eighteen organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions, including sales representatives, shop assistant, sales, cashiers, waiters and waitresses, kitchen assistants, security guards, stock keepers, clerks and shop managers. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 83% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $10,000. Almost all of these vacancies require Secondary Five educational level or below. 60% are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at G/F, Hall of Tin Yiu Community Centre, Tin Yiu Estate, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long (MTR West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station Exit C / LRT Tin Yiu Station, near Tin Yiu Shopping Centre). Admission is free.
