Deadline for submission of entries for Moving Images Competition "Fresh Takes on Nature" extended
*****************************************************

Youth.gov.hk has organised a Moving Images Competition entitled "Fresh Takes on Nature" to increase secondary students' understanding of Hong Kong's natural heritage and resources. The deadline for submission of entries has now been extended to December 10 (according to postmark).

Students are encouraged to showcase their creativity by submitting short video clips or moving images (no longer than 180 seconds) on the themes of landforms and rocks, marine environment, wetland ecology and biodiversity, to celebrate Hong Kong's geodiversity and natural heritage. The competition, which has two categories of participants, Junior (Secondary 1 to 3) and Senior (Secondary 4 to 7), is open to all current secondary students in Hong Kong.

There is no limit to the number of entries submitted by each school. Each entrant will get an admission ticket to the dress rehearsal of "WALKING WITH DINOSAURS - The Arena Spectacular" on a first-come, first-served basis. Members of the finalist teams will be invited to visit the backstage area of the show, and each team will be given four show tickets. What's more, the Winner, First Runner-up and Second Runner-up will gain the valuable learning opportunity of joining a professional camera crew producing short videos on environment and conservation in the community.

The organisations supporting this competition include Hong Kong Wetland Park of Agriculture, the Fisheries and Conservation Department, WWF ¡V Hong Kong, the Association for Geoconservation Hong Kong, the Academy of Film of Hong Kong Baptist University, and the Lands Department (listed in arbitrary order).
