The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (October 14) obtained three orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of about $339,000 against three employers in the District Court.
The three employers were 3333 Limited trading as Top Choice Seafood and Hotpot Restaurant, Goldwell Construction Limited and China (International) Water Proofing Limited. They were ordered to pay the MPFA $166,811.67, $118,318 and $54,101.98 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 34, 20 and four employees of the respective defendants.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered each defendant to pay the costs of $930.
