The Labour Department and the Airport Authority Hong Kong will co-organise the "Hong Kong International Airport Job Fair" at Tung Chung Community Hall on September 20 (Monday).
A total of 18 companies at Hong Kong International Airport will participate in the job fair, offering more than 800 vacancies in aviation logistics services, including cargo terminal operations, ramp handling services, airline catering, aircraft maintenance, business aviation facility and ground support equipment maintenance. They will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment. There will also be recruitment and employment information talks at the venue.
Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as aircraft maintenance craftsman trainee, ramp services agent, manual worker, warehouse worker, storekeeper, passenger services agent, cleaner and production attendant. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the Labour Department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Vacancies offered are suitable for job seekers with different experience and educational background. Over 90% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority offers a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $10,000. About 93% of these vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below. More than 75% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Tung Chung Community Hall, G/F, 39 Man Tung Road, Tung Chung Municipal Services Building, Tung Chung. Admission is free.
