The Government announced today (August 27) the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Legal Aid Services Council.
The Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Paul Chan Mo-po as the Chairman of the Council, and Ms Virginia Choi Wai-kam, Miss Corinne Marie D'Almada Remedios, Mr Michael Delaney, Mr Witman Hung Wai-man, Mr Stephen Hung Wan-shun, Dr Lee George Lam and Mrs Cecilia Wong Ng Kit-wah as members of the Council.
The Chief Executive has also appointed Mr Edward Leung Wai-kuen as a member of the Council.
The term of appointment of all members is two years, starting from September 1, 2010.
The Director of Legal Aid is an ex-officio member of the Council.
The Council is responsible for overseeing the administration of the legal aid services provided by the Legal Aid Department and advising the Government on legal aid policy.
