The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (July 23) obtained three orders for payments of outstanding MPF contributions of about $179,000 against three employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued three judgments against three employers, namely Quan Fat Hing trading as Walter Quan & Co., Great Pacific (Far East) Limited and Legend Host Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $86,821.96, $52,741.5 and $40,194 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 5, 33 and 5 employees of the respective defendants.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered each defendant to pay costs of $930.
