Drug InfoCentre Fun Day 2010 to be held on Saturday
***************************************************

The Narcotics Division (ND) of the Security Bureau and the Action Committee Against Narcotics (ACAN) will organise a Fun Day this Saturday (July 10) at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre (DIC) to promote better understanding of drugs and the dire consequences of abusing drugs. Members of the public are welcome to share the fun, which will include performances, workshops and exhibitions, free of charge.

The programmes are suitable for all ages. They include a demonstration of a drug search by the Police Dog Unit and Customs detector dogs, a hip-hop dance performance by the Northern District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (NDYOT), an interactive parents workshop organised by the Life Education Activity Programme, and a magic show by the Barnabas Charitable Service Association Limited. Moreover, a drama performed by ex-abusers' parents will be staged by the Hong Kong Children and Youth Services and another anti-drug drama will be presented by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre. The two drama shows will be followed by sharing sessions with the performers.

To show members of the public the harmful effects of drugs, the DIC will join the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service Cheer Lutheran Centre and the NDYOT respectively to set up exhibition booths. The Christian Family Service Centre and the Narcotics Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force will provide body check services and anti-drug information.
