Police today (June 14) warned that trafficking in dangerous drugs is a serious offence and offenders are liable to heavy penalties.
The warning was issued after two drug traffickers were sentenced to 22 years' imprisonment by the High Court.
The Court heard that officers attached to the Narcotics Bureau intercepted two men aged 22 and 27 in a flat in Tai Kok Tsui on April 1 last year. A total of 1,200 grams of cocaine was found inside the premises, as well as some manufacturing tools.
The duo was arrested and charged jointly with two counts of trafficking in dangerous drugs and one count of manufacturing of dangerous drugs. They were sentenced to imprisonment for 22 years separately at the Court of First Instance today.
