The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Tuen Mun Town Hall from May 26 to 27.
A total of 44 companies will participate in the job fair, with 22 companies taking part each day. They will offer over 3,000 vacancies and will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment.
Companies joining the job fair mainly come from the retail and catering industries. Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as shop assistant, sales, kitchen helper, waiter or waitress, officer and manager. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the Interactive Employment Service on the department's website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 74% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. Over 99% of these vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below. Over 70% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers may submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tuen Mun Town Hall, 3 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun. Admission is free.
