FS to attend opening of Hong Kong's creative ecologies programme for Shanghai Expo

     The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will attend the opening ceremony of the "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies - Business, Living, Creativity" programme at Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo) on Saturday (May 15).

     The six-month programme is being organised by the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) and will run throughout the Shanghai Expo period until end-October 2010.
 
     "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies" is an HKSAR programme for Shanghai Expo.

     It includes an exhibition, workshops, conferences and educational forums that will profile Hong Kong's creative industries and design power.

     Leading designers including Ms Lo Kai-yin, who is also the Chief Curator of the "Creative Ecologies" exhibition, and Mr Freeman Lau, vice chairman of the HKDC, will also attend the opening ceremony.

     The programme explores the "creative ecologies" of Hong Kong and the city's creative DNA.

     It will showcase iconic works of Hong Kong's leading designers and creative disciplines covering genres ranging from fashion and luxury goods to product and spatial design and service systems.

     The multi-faceted programme will provide a premier platform to highlight the energy, style, innovation and branding power of Hong Kong design and designers to the Mainland and global audiences.

     Renowned designers and senior business executives will also attend the opening ceremony at Shanghai's new creative cluster, The Bridge 8 Phase 3, No. 550 Jumen Road, Luwan District, Shanghai.
