The following is issued on behalf of the Sir David Trench Fund Committee:
The Sir David Trench Fund Committee is inviting eligible organisations to apply for the Main Fund of the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation for 2010-11.
The Fund is to be used for the provision of facilities and purchase of equipment for recreational, sporting and culture related projects. In keeping with the donor's wishes, emphasis is placed on encouraging the purposeful use of leisure by young people.
Three categories of grants are available under the Fund as follows:

Capital Works Projects Building of new
recreational facilities
Non-Capital Works Projects Purchase
of sports and recreational
equipment for collective
use
Special Projects Construction of new sports
facilities, improvement of
existing sports facilities
and purchase of sports
equipment for enhancement
of training in elite
sports and developing
sports at the community
level
The ceiling amount of grant per application for capital works projects is $500,000. The amount is between $2,000 and $75,000 for non-capital works projects and between $500,000 and $3,000,000 for special projects.
The application deadline for capital works projects and non-capital works projects is June 30, 2010. Application deadlines for special projects are June 30, 2010 (first batch) and November 30, 2010(second batch). Each applicant organisation may submit only one application for the same category of grants within the same year.
The application guidelines and application forms are available on the website of the Home Affairs Bureau (www.hab.gov.hk/en/public_forms/forms.htm) and also obtainable from the secretariat of the Sir David Trench Fund Committee upon request.
Completed application forms should be submitted before the respective deadlines to the secretariat of the Sir David Trench Fund Committee at 41/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
