The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (March 24) obtained two orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $370,000 against two employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgments against two employers, namely Lucky Dragon Boat Restaurant Limited and Quick Colour Printing Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $276,983.64 and $93,567.39, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 54 and 10 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendants each to pay cost of $930.
