The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
A company officer and employer were each fined $3,000 at the Kwun Tong Magistracy today (September 8), after being convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485).
Ng Kin Chuen, officer of Kingsway Groups Limited, was charged under section 7A(8) and section 44 of the ordinance and pleaded guilty to 15 counts of failing to make full MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution period between June 2007 and August 2008, but repaid it afterward. The defendant was fined $200 for each summons, totalling $3,000.
Kingsway Groups Limited was charged under section 7A(8) of the ordinance and pleaded guilty to 15 counts of failing to make full MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution periods June 2007 and August 2008, but repaid it afterward. The defendant was fined $200 for each summons, totalling $3,000.
Previously, Grace Kwok Wai Mun, Officer of Central Digital Photo Finishing Centre operated by Crystal View Consultants Limited was charged under section 7(1) and section 44 of the ordinance and was fined $8,600 for failing to enrol an employee in an MPF scheme.
