Following is the remarks (English portion) by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, on relocation of Christian Zheng Sheng College at the Foreign Correspondentsˇ¦ Club today (June 15):
Chief Executive: I have been following the recent developments of the relocation of the Christian Zheng Sheng College. I watched on TV the town hall meeting in Mui Wo yesterday, and noticed how emotional the responses from some local residents. Many NGOs in HK are devoted to rehabilitating young drug abusers. They deserve our full support.
As a father I know only too well that no parent would want to see their children abuse drugs. But young people do sometimes go astray. When our children make mistakes, they need forbearance. Just a little help and guidance from us can make a big difference on their lives. I hope Hong Kong society generally, and the Mui Wo community in particular, can embrace these young people with love and give them a second chance.
