The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (April 24) obtained four orders in the District Court against four employers for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $1,190,000.
The District Court today issued judgments against Plenty Profit Holdings Limited trading as Lucky Fellow Restaurant, Hongkong Bright Holdings Limited trading as Royal Plaza Court Seafood Restaurant, Excellent Fit Investment Limited trading as Festive Seafood Restaurant and Fidelity Concept Development Limited trading as Royal Plaza Restaurant. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA $441,258.25, $368,235.25, $300,110.40 and $84,183.19, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 130, 218, 66 and 36 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendants to each pay costs of $930.
