The Government today (April 1) announced the appointment of Mr Matthew Lam Kin-hong as a member of the Management Committee of the Consumer Legal Action Fund for a term of two years with effect from April 1. Mr Lam will replace Ms Angela Lee Wai-yin.
"We are grateful to Mr Lam for agreeing to serve on the management committee and to Ms Lee for her dedicated service in the committee during her office,กจ a government spokesman said.
"We are confident that the management committee will continue to manage the fund efficiently and in a manner that best serves the public interest," the spokesman said.
The Consumer Legal Action Fund was established in 1994 to assist aggrieved consumers in taking legal action.
The Consumer Council is the trustee of the fund. The management committee assists the Consumer Council in managing the fund and determining the eligibility of applications under the fund.
