Government's youth portal to bring Christmas tidings your way
**********************************************************

For a memorably merry Christmas, be sure to log into the Government's youth portal (www.youth.gov.hk) and download the wallpapers designed by comic artist Maggie Lau (Ma Chai) as special gifts for your friends and loved ones. Also not to be missed is a list of recommended destinations and interest classes on the theme of Christmas specially prepared by the portal.

The portal has been nominated in the "e-Government & Institutions" category in the World Summit Award 2009.  It is an amazing feat for the portal to be shortlisted from among all the entries from the Mainland and Hong Kong as China's representative for the World Summit Award. Sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, the World Summit Award is aimed at selecting and promoting outstanding electronic products and projects from around the world in terms of contents and applications. Entries for this year's award come from over 170 countries. The grand gury will meet in March 2009 to determine the winners.

To support the portal in its bid to win in the 2008 Meritorious Website Contest organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority, log onto the contest website (www.merit.gov.hk) and vote for the portal. The deadline for public voting is December 24. So act now!

The one-stop portal provides online services for young people. Apart from special features on a variety of topics, there is also detailed information on interest classes as well as arts and cultural activities. Visit the website now to learn more.
