The Venue Partnership Scheme is an arts development initiative recommended for implementation in the Committee on Performing Arts Recommendation Report (I) published in 2006. It aims to foster a partnership between venues and performing arts groups and organisations with the objectives of building up the artistic image and character of individual venues, enlarging their audience base, optimising the usage of the venue facilities, developing venue-based marketing strategies, encouraging community involvement in the development of the arts in Hong Kong and thus strengthening the sustained development of the local arts scene, echoing the broad vision of the West Kowloon Cultural District project. Thirty-seven proposals were received at the close of the invitation for proposals.
