A man was today (August 27) fined $3,000 for contravening a condition of the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) as required under the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance.
The Kowloon City Magistrates' Court heard that a club in Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, had been operating with a CoC under the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance. Officers of the Office of the Licensing Authority (OLA) of the Home Affairs Department inspected the club in January this year and found that the layout of the premises deviated from the registered drawing.
The man, holder of the CoC, was therefore found to be in contravention of Section 21(2) of the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance and was charged.
A spokesman for the department said robust enforcement action would continue to be taken against illegal clubhouse operations.
