Woman and company fined for illegal clubhouse operation
*******************************************************

A woman and a company were each fined $1,500 today (August 7) fined for contravening the condition of the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) as required under Section 21 of the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance.

The Kowloon City Magistrates' Court heard that a club in Nathan Road, Mong Kok had been operating with a CoC under the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance.  Officers of the Office of the Licensing Authority (OLA) of Home Affairs Department inspected the club in December last year, and found that the actual layout of the Premises deviated from the registered drawing, beaching Condition 3 of the CoC.

The woman, operator of the clubhouse and the operator, holder of the CoC, were found to be in contravention of Section 21 of the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance and were charged.

A spokesman for the department said enforcement action would continue to be taken against illegal clubhouse operations.
