LD assists Oasis employees

    The Labour Department has made special arrangements to assist Oasis staff affected by the decision of the provisional liquidator today (April 18) to terminate their employment.

    The Labour Department has registered affected Oasis staff at the airlines' Tung Chung office. The department has also set up two hotlines for the affected employees.  The hotlines are as follows:

- Telephone number : 2920 2003 (for employees' statutory rights and benefits);
- Telephone number : 2463 9967 (for employment services)

    The department will help the affected employees apply for ex-gratia payments from the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund (PWIF). The preliminary application form for PWIF can be downloaded from the department's website at www.labour.gov.hk

    In addition, the department will operate special service counters at its Tsuen Wan and Kwai Chung Labour Relations Offices tomorrow (April 19) from 9am to 5pm to help employees pursue termination compensation.

    Special service counters will be set up at all Labour Relations Offices and Job Centres of the Labour Department from Monday (April 21). The Job Centres will provide job referral service and assist them to find new jobs.  Meanwhile, the department has liaised with relevant establishments to canvass suitable vacancies for the affected employees.
