Following is the transcript of remarks at a media session by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, on the 2008-09 Budget at the Legislative Council Building this (February 27) afternoon (English portion):
Chief Secretary for Administration: The Financial Secretary has just read out his 08-09 Budget. I think this is an outstanding budget. It will consolidate our economic growth. It has responded to many calls from the community and it has achieved the purpose of leaving wealth with the community. And I also believe it has done a great deal for the disadvantaged and the needy. This is in response to calls from many people from that sector as well as government initiatives. I believe the community, like myself, will support this Budget and I urge the Revenue Bills be passed as soon as possible so that these measures can be implemented. Thank you.
