Eleven healthy and informative websites were voted in as meritorious websites while two others won Hall of Fame Awards in the 2007 Meritorious Website Contest.

Meanwhile, two websites which promote physical and/or mental health were selected for recommendation to members of the public. They are websites of HK Traveler (www.hktraveler.com) and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (www.hkpo.com).
The contest is jointly organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority, the Education Bureau, the Committee for Home-School Co-operation, the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association and Radio Television Hong Kong. It aims to encourage young people to pay more visits to healthy websites and to give recognition to the producers of these websites.
The theme this year is "Surf smartly. Spend your time wisely". The websites are judged according to their informativeness in enhancing visitors' knowledge and mentality; user-friendly presentation; systematic organisation; relevancy; reliability and attractiveness of presentation.
The contest received overwhelming response, with over 100 nominations and more than 200 000 votes from the public recorded this year.
Smart voters who get eight of the Meritorious Websites right out of their up to ten choices will be entitled to join a lucky draw in which ten prizes of $400 coupon each will be awarded. Result of the draw will be announced on the website of the contest, www.merit.gov.hk, in mid-March.
