Two lots sold for $6.192 billion at land auction

    The Lands Department this afternoon (October 15) held the sixth public land auction of the 2007-2008 financial year.  Two Government lots were sold for a total of $6.192 billion.

     The first lot sold was Aberdeen Inland Lot No. 451, Welfare Road in Aberdeen.  The opening bid was $2.5 billion.  It was sold to Teamer International Limited for $5.71 billion.  The site has an area of about 6,403 square metres and is designated for non-industrial (excluding godown, petrol filling station and hotel) purposes.  A minimum gross floor area of 36,120 square metres must be completed.

     The second lot, Lot No. 245 in Demarcation District No. 331 in Cheung Sha, Lantau Island was sold to Champion Top Development  Limited for $482 million.  The opening bid was $200 million.  Lot No. 245 in Demarcation District No. 331 has a site area of about 16,587 square metres and is designated for private residential purposes.  A minimum gross floor area of 3,981 square metres must be completed.

     The auction was conducted at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, by Assistant Director of Lands, Mr Graham Ross, assisted by Chief Estate Surveyor, Ms Karen Chan.
