The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will leave on Sunday (October 14) for a visit to the United Kingdom and the United States.
On his arrival in London on October 15, Mr Tsang will attend a roundtable meeting with the financial sector arranged by ex-Lord Mayor, City of London, Sir David Brewer.
In the afternoon, he will meet the Economic Secretary to the Treasury Ms Kitty Ussher and then attend a promotion event organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and a gala dinner hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
On October 16, Mr Tsang will attend the Chatham House Conference on Hong Kong. Later in the day, he will meet the Governor of the Bank of England Mr Mervyn King and attend a reception for Hong Kong Film Retrospective.
The Financial Secretary will leave London for New York on October 17 where he will officiate at the reception and premiere of Hong Kong Film Series "10 Years and Running: Recent Hong Kong Cinema".
On October 18, Mr Tsang will hold meetings with Moody's Investors Service and the New York Stock Exchange. He will also attend a lunch hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and deliver a keynote speech at the Weatherhead Policy Forum at the Columbia University before leaving for Washington DC.
In Washington on October 19, the Financial Secretary will attend a breakfast meeting hosted by the Business Roundtable and then attend meetings with the Heritage Foundation and CATO Institute.
In the afternoon, Mr Tsang will call on the Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council Mr Allan Hubbard, and the Secretary of the Treasury Mr Henry Paulson.
On October 20, Mr Tsang will call on the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the United Sates Federal Reserve Mr Ben Bernanke.
On October 21, Mr Tsang will officiate at the reception and performance of the City Contemporary Dance Company.
On October 22, Mr Tsang will attend a plenary session of the International Monetary Fund / World Bank Annual Meeting and deliver a keynote speech at the 10th Anniversary Conference: Hong Kong on the Move, before leaving for Boston where he will attend the inaugural dinner of the Hong Kong Association of Massachusetts.
On October 23, Mr Tsang will meet with the Boston financial sector before returning to Hong Kong.
