Advance infrastructure works at former Kai Tak Airport runway

    The Government intends to construct a public landing step and two drainage outfalls at about the middle of the former Kai Tak Airport runway and to construct a drainage outfall at the southern end of the runway.

     The works, which will affect an area of about 0.57 hectare and 0.04 hectare of foreshore and sea-bed at the middle of the southern side and the southern end of the former Kai Tak Airport runway respectively, are scheduled to commence in 2009 for completion by 2012.

     A notice describing the extent of the area affected is published in the Government Gazette today  (August 10).

     The notice together with its related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the sites.  The plan can also be seen at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point and at the Kowloon City District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Rooms 1706-1713, 17th Floor, One Harbourfront, 18-22 Tak Fung Street, Hung Hom.

     Any person who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North  Point by October 10.
