Following is a brief biography of Wong Ka-hei:
************************************************

Wong Ka-hei was born on November 3, 1979. He received education in Hong Kong and joined the Fire Services Department in July, 1999, as Fireman.

He had been posted to Tsuen Wan Fire Station since January, 2000, after he had completed his initial training at the Fire Services Training School.

Throughout his eight years of service in the department, he was a very conscientious fireman and showed great devotion to duty. He also obtained the qualification of 'Special Rescue Squad' in 2003. Being cool-minded and shrewd as well as perseverant, Fireman Wong was a highly capable and professional firefighter.

For self-development, he pursued further studies in his leisure time and eventually obtained an Associate Degree from the Hong Kong Open University in 2006. He was a man of integrity and his initiative for continuous enhancement had gained great respect from his colleagues and friends.

His gallantry was demonstrated by his brave act in the operation in a No 3 Alarm fire at QPL Industrial Building, Texaco Road, Tsuen Wan, on May 22, 2007. However, it was a great misfortune that he lost his life in the course of firefighting and rescue. His bravery and professionalism won great honour from the community.

He was single and is survived by his parents and two older sisters.
