Financial Secretary speaks on Budget consultation (with photos and video)
********************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) of a media session by the Financial Secretary, Mr Henry Tang, after attending a Budget consultation forum in Olympian City, Tai Kok Tsui this afternoon (January 27):

Reporter: Do you think the Budget...?

Financial Secretary: On the first day I took up this job, actually someone asked me a very similar question and my answer was: I hope when my term ends, more people would say I've done a good job than those who said I've done a bad job. And I would be satisfied.

Reporter: Do you think "good job" means...?

Financial Secretary: No. Not necessarily. Because a lot of time, it does not just mean money in your pocket. It depends on whether they think you have done a good job in managing the macro economy, or whether you have done a good job in helping the needy, or whether you have done a good job in restoring balance in government's finances. So, each person will judge me based on his or her own criteria.
