AIDS Trust Fund invites applications for project funding
********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the AIDS Trust Fund:

The AIDS Trust Fund is inviting applications for funding from a Special Project Fund (SPF) for launching HIV/AIDS projects of a non-profit-making nature in the coming two financial years.

The Special Project Fund was set up to encourage the launching of HIV/AIDS prevention projects in the community in view of a recent increasing trend of reported local HIV/AIDS cases among Men-having-sex-with-Men (MSM).

Organisations including academic institutes, service providers in the public sector, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), professional organisations, and government departments are welcome to apply.

The first round of applications is open from today (December 1) until February 1, 2007. Interested parties are invited to attend a briefing session to be held on December 14 for a better understanding of the objectives and requirements of the Fund.

Further details of the application and the briefing session are available on the AIDS Trust Fund webpage http://www.info.gov.hk/atf or by calling 2125 2099.

The AIDS Trust Fund (ATF) was established in 1993 by the Government to provide assistance to those who have been infected with HIV through transfusion of blood or blood products in Hong Kong before August 1985, to strengthen medical and support services and to step up public education on AIDS.
