The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (September 22) obtained two orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at around $79,000 against two employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgments against two employers, namely, Cheung Kin Kai, Thomas trading as Admand Optical Company and Gee Boutique Fashion Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $51,524.82 and $27,436.26, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to seven and one employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payments of $930 as costs for both cases.
