**********************************************************

A Financial Services delegation, led by the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Frederick Ma, arrived in Changsha today (September 13) for a three-day promotional visit to enhance economic co-operation between Hunan and Hong Kong.

The delegation comprises more than 100 prominent figures representing some 90 enterprises and institutions of Hong Kong's financial services sector. They include the banking, securities and insurance industries, venture capital investment and private equity funds, accounting and legal professions, the Hong Kong Exchange and the Securities and Future Commission.

In the afternoon, the delegation met the Secretary of Hunan Province, Mr Zhang Chunxian; the Governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, Mr Zhou Bohua, and other senior government officials of the Hunan Provincial Government.

During the visit, the delegation will attend various seminars and presentations which enable business leaders of both Hunan and Hong Kong to exchange views on opportunities for business co-operation.

There will also be a listing seminar held by the Hong Kong Exchange which aims to encourage Hunan enterprises to make use of Hong Kong's well-established financial market for listing and financing.

The delegates will visit two manufacturing enterprises in Hunan, including a vehicle production manufacturer and an air-conditioning appliances production company.

This is the first financial services delegation led by the Government to visit Hunan at the invitation of the Hunan Provincial Government under the Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation Framework (known as 9+2).
