Five-day week in Registration and Electoral Office
**************************************************

The Registration and Electoral Office (REO) will extend weekday working hours to compensate for closing on Saturday mornings with the introduction of a five-day week from July 1.

The new opening hours will be 8.45am to 6pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays), with a lunch break from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

"People can visit the offices during office hours for voter registration and election-related matters. They can also return voter registration forms by post or by fax to 2891 1180 or register on-line," a spokesman for REO said today (June 14).

When elections and by-elections are being held, the office will open on Saturdays for the delivery of election-related services. These opening hours will be announced before the relevant period starts.

The Electoral Information Centre at 10/F, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, will also join the five-day week. Opening hours from Monday to Friday will be 8.45am to 6pm, with a lunch break from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

For further enquiries, please call the hotline 2891 1001 or visit the central website on "five-day week in the Government" at http://www.info.gov.hk/info/5day.
