Students' works shine in welcome card and bookmark design competition

    More than 2,000 entries from 200 primary and secondary schools were submitted in the Primary and Secondary School Students' Welcome Card and Bookmark Design Competition, celebrating the upcoming World Trade Organisation (WTO) Sixth Ministerial Conference.

     At today's (November 12) prize presentation ceremony, the Deputy Head of the WTO Sixth Ministerial Conference Co-ordination Office, Mr Tang Chi-leungĄ@and Principal Assistant Secretary (Curriculum Development) for Education and Manpower Dr Chan Ka-ki, presented awards to students with outstanding performance.

     The competition, organised by the WTO Sixth Ministerial Conference Co-ordination Office and the Education and Manpower Bureau under the theme of "Welcome our friends from all over the world", comprises four groups, including Lower Primary (Primary 1 to 3), Upper Primary (Primary 4 to 6), Junior Secondary (Secondary 1 to 3) and Senior Secondary (Secondary 4 to 7).

     A total of 200 outstanding works were first selected from the four categories, from which 24 excellent pieces were further identified. Students with the excellent artworks were each awarded a Certificate of Excellence and a HK$1,000 book coupon. Some of these entries will be selected for reproduction as souvenirs and other publicity purposes.
